Pressmeddelande: Vi offentliggör vår 75 miljoner seed-runda för att ta byggbranschen in i AI-eran

Stockholm, January 27, 2026Brickanta, the agentic AI platform for the construction industry, today announced its $8M Seed funding round led by Northzone, with participation from global sports stars, founders of Lovable, Tandem Health and angel investors from OpenAI, Google and Meta. The round was raised in under two weeks.

Brickanta is building the AI-native operating system for construction, starting with the pre-construction workflows that determine the outcome of entire projects: bid analysis, cost estimation, and procurement. Construction is a $15 trillion industry globally, and every year trillions are lost due to avoidable miscalculations, errors, and waste. The AI platform’s industry know-how builds on real project data, standards and documentation, enabling construction teams to identify gaps, price risk and prepare procurement packages significantly faster than with traditional tools.

Brickanta has onboarded hundreds of users and introduced AI to builders across eleven countries on four continents. Customers use the agentic platform by connecting internal organizational data to receive AI-powered gap analyses. Cost estimators report that identifying or correctly pricing even a single change order with Brickanta can determine whether a project proceeds or runs into costly overruns. Procurement teams can generate category-specific RFP bundles in as little as 15 minutes – a process that normally took days and often involved hundreds of manual sub-packages per project.

“Since our Y Combinator launch in October, the pace of development has been amazing. Receiving hundreds of global inbound requests and seeing Brickanta’s AI being used in real estimation and procurement workflows. Construction is often described as conservative, but our experience has been the opposite – the response has been fantastic. The next-generation builders are eager to embrace AI specifically built for how they actually build the physical world around us.” says Lucas Otterling, co-founder and CEO of Brickanta.

The round was led by Northzone, the global venture capital firm behind unicorns such as Spotify, Klarna and construction technology leaders like Spacemaker, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2020. Additional investors include industry leaders across construction and real estate: Johan Edenström (Newsec, Stronghold and Pejoni), Kalle Erlandsson (Erlandsson Properties and BART Ventures), Tobias Hedlund (Hitachi factory project PM and Peab), Stefan Lennhammer (Catella and Truecaller), Tom Sakofall (Sakofall) and Oliver Robsahm (SPV Group).

As well as, world-class founders and operators across AI and technology: Anton Osika (Lovable), Lukas Saari and Oliver Åstrand (Tandem Health), Alfred Wahlforss (Listen Labs), Fredrik Carlsson (AI researcher at RISE), Agnes Sjöberg (Google), Erik Engellau-Nilsson (Klarna and Norrsken Launcher), Joel Wägmark (Atlar), Gabriel Petersson (OpenAI), Navid Haddad (Meta) and JJ Fiegelman (WayUp).

Global sports stars Mario Götze (active angel and German football player) and Cody Gakpo (Liverpool and Dutch football player), alongside 20VC and continued support from Y Combinator and SSE Business Lab, are also among the early backers.

Pär-Jörgen Pärson, Partner at Northzone says, “The construction industry has suffered from low productivity increases for decades, and AI might just be what changes the game. Brickanta is building a purpose-built AI solution to address the construction industry’s monumental challenge of managing complexity in planning and execution - often involving millions of mission-critical documents. We are excited to partner with real game changers like Lucas and Linus in building Brickanta.”

Brickanta, now headquartered in Stockholm, is initially focused on scaling across Europe to leverage shared building standards such as the Eurocodes. Since closing the round, the company has quadrupled its team, expanding engineering, product, and forward-deployed delivery. The ConTech startup will continue to maintain close ties to Silicon Valley through Y Combinator, U.S.-based angel investors and close partnerships with leading large language model developers.
